Accessibility Compliance Initiative
The Department of Justice’s recent ADA ruling gives FSCJ an opportunity to move from reactive fixes to a proactive, sustainable compliance strategy. By establishing a process to update and align digital content and systems with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, the College can reduce the risk of noncompliance. More importantly, this work allows FSCJ to build the value of accessibility into current and future processes—enhancing consistency, efficiency, and the overall digital experience for all users.
Ombudsman Concern Forms
This project is designed to provide a secure, user-friendly option for the submission of Ombudsman concerns electronically across the institution. By leveraging OnBase to digitize and automate this process, the project will provide a confidential and approachable avenue for addressing concerns while reducing delays and manual burdens on the Ombudsman. Once complete, this solution will be available on our institution’s website for student, faculty, and staff submission of Ombudsman Concern Forms.
FASTER Transcript Separation Automation
This project focuses on streamlining the processing and storage of incoming student transcripts received via the FASTER system—Florida's Automated System for Transferring Educational Records. Currently, transcripts arrive in large batch files containing hundreds or even thousands of individual student records, making manual separation and indexing time-consuming. To address this challenge, this project will implement a solution that will automatically separate large FASTER transcript files into individual student transcripts and route them for review and secure storage using OnBase.
Department Course Override Automation
In collaboration with the FSCJ’s IT Department, Academics Departments, and the Registrar’s Office this project focuses on digitizing and automating the Department Course Override Request form and processing using GT eForms and PeopleSoft. Historically, students and staff have relied on physical forms, emails, and tickets to submit and manually process Department Course Override Requests. This project will transform that experience by introducing a fully digital workflow that is accessible directly through MyFSCJ, streamlining the process for both students and staff.
Orion to PeopleSoft Data Migration
The Orion Data Migration project will focus on moving data still being accessed in Orion (and never converted to PeopleSoft) from Orion legacy and legacy-legacy system to PeopleSoft queries. The project will focus on moving the data as represented in Orion to PS and not converting data. This will allow the sunsetting of the Orion system all together.
BibliU BookStore Transition
BibliU has been selected as the new course material provider for FSCJ. The integration with BibliU will replace Follett as the official bookstore provider for FSCJ starting Fall 2025. All connections with Follett will sunset at the end of Summer 2025.
Create a Canvas Training Certificate
This certificate will prepare users to get the most out of Canvas so they can be confident in providing the best online learning experience for students.
Kubernetes and Further Improvements to Our Web Project Deployments
This project will work to modernize our web architecture further.
FSCJ Police Force
IT is working closely with the College’s Security Department to ensure that implementation is within “Best Practice” methods.
Zero Trust Security Framework
Zero Trust Network Access is architecture and sets of technology that enable secure access to internal applications, data, and services for remote and on-premises users. Organizational accounts are identified and authorized to access only the applications, data, and services allowed for their role and function. Non-asset endpoint devices that connect to the college network are also identified and secured while allowing the IT Operations team full visibility and control of what is connected to the college network and information resources.
