New IT Information Security Email Address and Phish Exercise
IT is launching a new email address for official cybersecurity and information security communications regarding matters such as:
Security notifications when unusual or suspicious activity is detected involving your account
Requests to verify unusual login or VPN activity
Precautionary password resets when suspicious account activity cannot be verified
KnowBe4 Cybersecurity Awareness enrollment, reminder, and completion notifications
Soon, employees may receive messages from infosec@fscj.edu regarding any of the matters above.
As part of the launch of this new email address, IT will send all employees an email from infosec@fscj.edu asking them to report the message using the Phish Alert Button in Outlook.
This will not be a simulated phishing email. The message will clearly state that it is part of a verification exercise and will instruct you to report it using the Phish Alert Button.
The purpose of this exercise is to:
Confirm that the Phish Alert Button is installed and working correctly for employees
Help employees become familiar with the email-reporting process
Measure organization-wide use of the Phish Alert Button
Identify and address any technical issues with the reporting tool
When you receive the verification email, please follow the instructions and report it using the Phish Alert Button. Do not delete it or report it as ordinary spam. If the Phish Alert Button is missing or does not work correctly, contact the Technical Service Desk at (904) 632-3151 for assistance.
As always, remain cautious when reviewing email. Do not click suspicious links or provide sensitive information unless you have safely verified that the request is legitimate. Use the Phish Alert Button to report suspicious emails. Please do not use the Phish Alert Button to report ordinary spam or unwanted marketing messages.
