View the New IT Department Website

As you may have heard or read in this previous blog post, IT is transitioning to a new Help Desk site and ticketing system. This change originated alongside our contract ending with ServiceNow and improved experience of using Jira Service Management as the ticketing system providers. As we move away from ServiceNow altogether, the department also decided to revamp the IT Department website found at it.fscj.edu.

On March 1, along with the change you’ll experience on help.fscj.edu, we hope that you’ll click around the new IT site and find the information easier to access with less clicks and a more intuitive experience.

Here’s what you can expect to see:

At the top of the new IT Department site you will find a header with links to each of the sections below on the home page.

  • Services - a list of IT services available to students and employees

  • Projects - a list of projects IT that impact a large number of College users

  • Updates - the page where all blog articles, IT news, and feature updates will be shared

  • About IT - links to technology plans, documents, and team members can be found here

  • Get Help - an easy to access button that will take you directly to the Help site for support

Additionally, you can click the System Status Page to see if any FSCJ system is experiencing an outage.

New in the department site is the ability to search for services offered by IT, filtered by those offered to Students and Employees. Click the Students/Employees link to view all or find a particular service wihtin the search box. These services can also be accessed from the Services link in the site header.

As you may imagine, this area is my personal favorite since it highlights and links featured blog articles. You can also find a full view from the Updates link in the site’s header.

The IT projects that have an impact on users and those where there are Collegewide communications planned will be listed here along with details, timelines, and support.

Here you will be able to quickly view the dates where there is maintenance planned or other IT events.

While there is still content being edited and added, overall the information accessible to you here has been laid out to bring transparency and support to the forefront of our area.
