Did You Know Canvas Has Hidden Games?

Meet the Newest Member of the EdTech Team!
Hello everyone, my name is Sachleen Dhooper and today is my first day working as a student worker for the Educational Technology team at FSCJ.
InstructureCon 2022 Overview
On July 14, the FSCJ EdTech team attended InstructureCon 2022. This convention showcased the latest in Canvas and online learning. The conference was virtual this year, with live sessions that were also recorded so anyone could catch up on whatever they missed. We connected with other educators across the world through games and online discussion forums. We were inspired by the keynote speakers, creative inventor Simone Giertz and organizational psychologist Adam Grant. The following were some highlighted sessions we found helpful along with the avatars we created at the conference!
Prospective Tool Review: Harmonize for Canvas Discussion Board
The FSCJ EdTech team is constantly on the lookout for the latest tools that may benefit our FSCJ community. We recently met with a representative from Harmonize, a Canvas partner that specializes in discussion boards “to create an interactive space for dynamic academic discussion, creative and analytical thinking, and in-depth feedback that drives next-level education.” Harmonize integrates with the Canvas discussion board, updating its look and providing features that are not currently available through Canvas.
Final Farewell to All Blackboard Course Content
After the transition to Canvas, then the transition to online everything, it may seem like we’ve been using Canvas for longer than we have. However, the time has finally come for us to say goodbye to the remaining Blackboard courses and remove them from our archives. The removal date of these Blackboard courses will be on August 28th, 2022, at the start of our upcoming Fall term.
Considering a New Academic Tool? We Can Help!
The LTI request process is final and in place. To request an LTI be integrated with Canvas, please visit help.fscj.edu, select Submit a Request, then from the Categories on the left choose Canvas. On that page, choose Add a New LTI, External Tool, or EduApp to Canvas then complete the fields as requested. The request will come to the Educational Technology team for review.
