Final Farewell to All Blackboard Course Content

After the transition to Canvas, then the transition to online everything, it may seem like we’ve been using Canvas for longer than we have. However, the time has finally come for us to say goodbye to the remaining Blackboard courses and remove them from our archives. The removal date of these Blackboard courses will be on August 28th, 2022, at the start of our upcoming Fall term.

This video talks about the removal to all Blackboard Course Content.

FINAL REQUESTS FOR COURSE CONTENT

This is your last opportunity to request access to any Blackboard courses from the semesters of Fall 2017, Spring 2018, Summer 2018, or Fall 2018. If needed, please send an email to EdTech@fscj.edu and include the full course name, including the course ID, so we can acquire that course for you prior to the final removal of the archived content. Please note that without the course ID, we will be unable to locate your course. Please reach out to your Program Manager or Dean if you need to locate the course ID prior to sending your request.

STUDENT DATA IN BLACKBOARD COURSES

Although course content can be accessed, student data from the courses can only be viewed via a rudimentary Excel report. Unfortunately, when Blackboard sunsetted their free access LMS portal, Course Sites, we no longer have access to a Blackboard environment to view course data within courses.

IMPORTING BLACKBOARD CONTENT INTO CANVAS

As a reminder, archived Blackboard courses can be imported into Canvas for future use. If you have forgotten how to do a course import with a Blackboard course into Canvas, we created a Migration course to assist as we transitioned over to Canvas. For all the tips and tricks for migrating your content, simply navigate to the course here.
