First Steps in Syllabus Creation
As you begin creating your spring syllabi in our new Simple Syllabus platform, we want to ensure you have clear guidance on how to access and start working on your syllabi—both directly and through Canvas.
Enable the Course Syllabus Link in Canvas
First, you’ll need to manually enable the link to access Simple Syllabus in your Canvas course navigation:
Log in to Canvas.
Within a Spring course, go to Settings and select the Navigation tab.
Find Course Syllabus in the list and enable it by dragging it to the active course navigation section.
Click Save to update your course navigation.
The Course Syllabus link will now direct you to Simple Syllabus, where you can begin editing the syllabus for that specific course. This step will need to be repeated for each of your Spring courses.

Access Simple Syllabus Directly
Visit at syllabus.fscj.edu.
Click the icon in the upper-right corner to log in and begin creating your syllabus.
