New IT Messaging Provides Status Page and Consistent Look
We all know that when myFSCJ is unavailable, you can expect an email from ITInfo@fscj.edu informing you of the issue and another one once the service has been restored. On a good day, it’s as easy as that - the system owner communicates the issue and notifies the person who drafts an email to go out. However, beginning this Fall the IT department will refine our process and provide more consistent messaging when systems experience issues. Additionally, employees no longer have to wait for an email to be received - if you suspect a system may be experiencing performance issues, there will be a status page that is updated as an issue arises.
New Templated, Straightforward Emails
When a system experiences unexpected downtime, an email will go out and include the system impacted, a link to our system status page, and a link to view any incident updates. Below is an example of how that email will appear.
System Status Page
Within the email example, you can see that there will be a link to our new system status page. This site will be accessible, even when IT systems may be unavailable, and will show if particular systems are online or experience downtime. You can view the new status page at status.fscj.edu.
While the messages will still be prepared by our same Incident Management Team within IT and will continue to be received from IT Info email address, we hope that the improved look and consistent messaging approach, along with the new status page, continue to improve the experience we provide here at FSCJ.
