Having Trouble with a Rotated Screen on Your Laptop? Here’s What You Need to Know
If you are one of the users who’ve experienced an unexpected screen rotation when opening your FSCJ Windows laptop, you’re not alone! Several users have reported that when they pick up their laptops, the screen unexpectedly rotates, making it difficult to use.
Why Is This Happening?
Most modern laptops have a feature that allows the screen to rotate automatically, similar to how your smartphone adjusts its display when tilted. While this feature can be helpful in certain scenarios, many users are activating it unintentionally when simply opening their laptops or adjusting their screens.
What Are We Doing About It?
To resolve this, our IT team is working on a fix that will disable automatic screen rotation by default across all Windows laptops at FSCJ. This change will prevent accidental screen rotation and provide a more consistent user experience.
Need the Rotation Feature? Let Us Know!
If you do find the automatic rotation feature useful and would like to keep it enabled, please submit a ticket at help.fscj.edu. We can easily allow the rotation feature on a per-device basis.
Temporary Fix
If you’re currently dealing with a rotated screen before our fix is in place, try this simple workaround:
1. Open your laptop fully.
2. Hold the screen upright and tilt the entire laptop towards you.
3. This should reset the screen orientation back to normal.
We appreciate your patience as we implement this solution and work to improve your user experience. If you continue to experience issues or need additional help, please reach out to our support team through help.fscj.edu.
