Change Your Default Meeting Location in Outlook
If you schedule enough meetings in Outlook, you’ve probably created a meeting that you meant to be in person, but the Teams virtual meeting option was left as a location option and attendees attempted to join virtually. This article will share with you how to adjust your own Outlook version so that you can determine what the default location is when you create a new meeting - whether you prefer in-person, Teams, or even Webex as your most frequently used meeting location.
When you create a meeting in the Outlook Calendar, your meeting location may default to a virtual Teams meeting, as shown in the photo below. To change this setting and select your preferred default meeting location, follow the directions within this link. Please be aware that there are different versions of Outlook and when scheduling meetings some versions do not have the option to change the default meeting behavior.
