BibliU Access Through Canvas and Simple Syllabus

As you know, the College has transitioned from Follett Discover to BibliU as our primary digital textbook platform. As part of this change, the BibliU icon was added to the Canvas Global Navigation, and the language in the Required Textbooks/Materials component of Simple Syllabus was updated to reflect the new platform. However, because many faculty submitted their syllabi before this transition was finalized, you may need to reset that component to ensure the correct information appears for your students.

  • In Canvas, the BibliU icon in the Global Navigation provides students with direct access to their digital textbooks and materials.

  • In Simple Syllabus, the Required Textbooks/Materials component now includes updated language and a link to the FSCJ Store, where students can view and purchase required course materials.

    • The language displayed in the syllabus varies on the course type:

      • Access courses include language about FSCJ Access materials and a link to view their required course materials.

      • OER/No Material courses do not display a link.

      • All other courses show a link for students to “View Your Required Course Materials.”

Action May Be Required

If you have previously edited the Required Textbooks/Materials component, your syllabus may still display outdated language (such as references to Follett) or may not show the updated link for students.

To ensure students see the correct information please reset the Required Textbook/Materials syllabus component in your syllabus to allow the new default language and links to appear.

Students can also view their required textbooks and materials in myFSCJ under their class schedule or by visiting the FSCJ Store online and searching by course or instructor.

So Long, Follett

The Follett Discover icon, our previous bookstore tool, was removed at the end of the Summer term.
