IT at Commencement 2024

The IT team turned out in force to help out at this year’s Commencement. This big day is important for not only our terrific, accomplished graduates, but also for FSCJ’s faculty and staff; everyone coming together to celebrate our students.

IT staffers handled tasks from staging and setup, to ensuring diploma readiness, setting up signs, handling faculty checkin (a fully new process spearheaded by the EdTech team), and handing out the cool Manta Ray towels given to each new grad as they exited the stage.

Behind the scenes of the standing room only event, members of the Digital Media Productions team used their technology to live stream the event to all of the friends and family members unable to attend the day’s festivities. In all, 7688 people watched the live steam from 49 different countries and territories! In addition, Digital Media Productions handles the live event captioning, so that everyone in the arena and online can participate. The DMP team has been shooting and live streaming commencement for years, and this was our biggest and most viewed event ever!

Thanks to the whole IT team for their work!
